Perhaps you would like a weekly visit from me for the first two months after your baby has been born, giving you time and space to reflect on how you're finding parenthood. Offering you emotional and practical support, as well as quickly sourcing info for you. Or, perhaps you simply want to try on some baby slings and carriers in the comfort of your own home? May be breastfeeding support is what you're after. My postnatal offerings are broad. Welcome to postnatal doula support, with me, Sophy, your trusted doula with extensive experience of supporting new parents to achieve their unique goals!

Tell me your birth story- 4hrs of Support £175
Birth Experience Listening & Support - a total of 4 hours.
In-person, over the phone or video calls.
This service allows you space and time for you to tell your birth story in as much or as little detail as you may wish, or perhaps simply voice areas of your experience that you are seeking to understand better. I am not a trained birth trauma specialist. I am a good active listener and my experience as a doula also means I am often able to support you in processing your emotions & experiences, specifically in relation to birth. You can also use the session to explore potential steps towards resolutions for yourself. I will also provide details of further support available going forward, should you wish to access it.
The sessions are responsive to your needs. Often it involves us meeting for around an hour and a half, chatting about your experience, then a follow up email from me outlining what we chatted about with any points/signposting, or sometimes it may be me reading through your birth story as you rewrite it or re-tell by audio recording - subsequent to your initial meeting.
Finally, there's an optional second meeting of an hour to an hour and half when I can listen to and respond to any rewritten, or re-told story you have now shared, and we chat about any remaining queries you may have.
Here are some of the examples of practical support this package has included for some clients:
- I have supported clients in attending birth reflection meetings with NHS staff (to fill in blanks of what may have happened clinically).
- Assistance in how to get a copy of your medical records
-Making space and self-accountability for you to take action on e.g. getting your notes or making a self-referral for counselling
-Babysitting in your home whilst you talk to counselling services
-Supporting the re-writing of your birth story
£175 (plus travel expenses these are charged at 55p/mile as a round trip from my home PO4 to your location )
Book your initial session - up to 2 hours. We will then arrange the subsequent session and any ongoing support up to four hours in total (the hours include remote support e.g. messages and emails).
